Annual Fund Donations
The Foundation’s Annual Fund provides essential and unique academic enrichment opportunities and improvements that benefit ALL STUDENTS and help set Maggie Walker apart from other schools.
You Annual Fund gift in 2025-26 will help us reach our goal of raising $400,000 to directly support the following:
Your contributions have a huge impact on the school and its students, and all donations are tax-deductible. Foundation contributors at $1000 and above are invited to participate in Director’s Circle Events, including the annual Director’s Circle Reception.
Make a one-time annual fund donation (credit card, Venmo, PayPal) or a recurring donation (credit card).
OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT MLWGS
Inscribed Paver
Families of seniors and graduates may purchase an inscribed paver to leave a lasting tribute at the school. This is a great way to honor your student and support the work done by the Foundation. Purchase a Bluestone Lobby paver or a brick paver surrounding the Maggie Lena Walker bust on the Lombardy St. walkway.
Support a Booster Group
Donating to a Booster group is another way that parents can assist current students with specific extra- and co-curricular school experiences at Maggie L Walker Governor’s School. The current Booster groups are Athletic Boosters, Drama Boosters, Music Boosters, and Visual Arts Boosters.
JOIN THE PTSA
Our PTSA promotes a vibrant feeling of community and school spirit. Events include Back to School Night, Fall Festival, faculty and staff appreciation events/special meals and student appreciation events.

Make a Matching Gift
Many employers provide matching gifts for donations made by employees. Please check to see if your employer is among them.
Donations to MLWGS are investments in kids who are in the most formative times of their lives. Having educated people in our society is crucial, and this is an easy way to help. The funds of the Foundation are overseen by a director and volunteer Board, so I feel comfortable they’re being applied towards the mission of the school.
